Following the trail

-Outside the Valley of Peace-

-Liu Zhang Pov-

“Where are we going?” I asked.

“There,” Jun said pointing to a bar. “There’s no better place to find information about a criminal,”

“I can’t go in there!” I protested. “It’s full of criminals!”

“As opposed to staying out here?” Jun asked indicating around him to the various criminals hanging around outside the bar.

“Fine,” I said

“Just stay close to me and you’ll be alright,” Jun said.

“Can I help you two?” the bartender asked as we walked up to the bar.

“We’re looking for someone,” Jun said leaning against the bar, “Someone hired an assassin to kill Master Tigress, we want to know who the assassin is,”

“Can’t help you,” The bartender said cleaning out a glass.

“You sure?” Jun said placing a sack of gold coins on the bar.

The bartender looked at the money on the bar for a moment and then quickly swept it up.

“He’s in the corner booth,” He said.

“Thank you,” Jun said.

“Stay close to me,” he said to me.

“You the one hired to kill Master Tigress?” Jun asked the white tiger sitting at the corner table his feet on the table

“Maybe, who’s asking?” The tiger asked back. “Wait a second, your that Panther girl,” He said looking at Me.

“I knew I shouldn’t have taken that job,” He said leaning back in his chair, taking a drink.

“What are you doing here? Are you going to arrest me?” He asked with a hint of amusement in his voice.

“No, we only want to know who hired you to kill Liu and why.” Jun said.

“I’m not an assassin; I don’t kill children,” The Tiger said. “I only took the job because money is short right now. As for who hired us, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I never saw his face, he kept his hood up the whole time.” The Tiger said.

“He did pay us with these,” He added laying a sack on the table, inside were Imperial jewels

Jun picked one up and examined it, and it was real.

“Someone very powerful has decided to make you their enemy, I suggest you tread carefully,” The Tiger said.

“Wait, us?” I asked.

“You don’t think I’d take a job like this on my own did you,” The Tiger said. “I recruited another assassin to handle Master Tigress; it obviously didn’t work,”

I thought back to my fight with the assassin and the assassin who had attacked my mom. Two different styles of attack.

“He’s right, there’s a second assassin out there,” I said to Jun.

“Alright, well thanks for your help,” Jun said turning to leave

“Wait, that’s it?” I asked chasing after him.

“That’s it,” Jun confirmed.

“Shouldn’t we have arrested him or something?” I asked.

“No, you heard what he said, arresting him won’t do any good,” Jun said. “One mistake doesn’t make him a villain,”

“So, where to now?” I asked.

“Now, comes the tricky part,” Jun said “Are you sure your up for this, you could end up having to fight your friends, even you mom, and the Five,”

I paused for a second; I hadn’t truly thought of that

“I’m sure,” I said taking my battlesuit out of my pack, with its twin Katanas and Kunai.

Jun did the same only he had an axe that looked built for throwing or chopping.

“There’s a little village up ahead I wanna hit first,” He said putting on his ninja suit, compleat with a mask.

“We…won’t kill anyone right?” I asked hesitantly.

Jun stopped and turned to me.

“I’d like to avoid it if possible, but if not,” He said patting the axe hanging from his belt.

“What am I getting myself into?” I thought as we entered the small village.

-Tigress Pov-

My stab wound was healing well, and I was able to move more freely around the Palace without as much help from Po now. But I still couldn’t train, not that I could anyway, I was too worried about Liu to concentrate on anything else.

The others tried the cheer me up by telling me she’d be okay.

“She’s my daughter, and I let her go, what if she never comes back!” I shouted to Viper after her persistent attempts to cheer me up.

“She’ll come back,” Viper said confidently, seemingly unfazed by my outburst.

“I’m gonna go…”

“….Work out?” Viper said finishing my sentence.

"Yeah," I said heading for the exit to go the Training Hall only to be stopped by Po.

"Hey, Ti where ya going?" He asked.

"To train," I answered, pushing past the large Panda.

"I'll come with you," He said catching up with me.

"Po, no offense, but I can do this myself," I said
